BCPC NYC officially launched as the first formal on-the-ground group activity on February 23, 2015. Blue Collar Post Collective was originally a group of people who worked in the machine room and other technical roles and met up to talk about their life and work in the same bar every month. Over time the group grew until the official launch in 2015. In April 2016, BCPC was awarded non-profit status and expanded to Los Angeles the following June.
